Dunmininu's Gift

When Dunmininu’s mum (my friend) called to say he had done an art exhibition and he wanted to give part of the proceeds to the Kindness Initiative, I was really impressed. It’s not every day you come across a 21-year-old who puts his desires aside to help others. I’m sure there are a lot of things he could have done with the money raised. 

Anyway, they came to visit. We chatted and had good laughs. When Dunmininu handed me the envelope with the draft, I didn’t open it immediately. The thoughtfulness and gesture meant a lot more than the amount. After they left, I opened the envelope, and my jaw dropped. I was holding in my hand a six-figure draft. All I heard myself saying was, “wow’!

On behalf of the Kindness Initiative and the many beneficiaries whose medical bills will be settled from this act of kindness, my prayer is that the rewards of kindness will be his consistent experience all the days of his life. Thank you, Dunmininu.
