When I saw Nonye’s story about Olajide, a 4-year-old boy at the Cerebral Palsy Centre who needed to do a Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastronomy (PEG) to minimize the risk of him aspirating while being fed, I knew immediately that the Kindness Initiative needed to support. From the first donation in August 2020 of N10,000, the Kindness Initiative championed by RAVE Et Al has in 24 months, disbursed over N13.5m to defray the medical bills of 200+ beneficiaries across 12 states in Nigeria. The Kindness Initiative has also sponsored the annual healthcare insurance premium for 5 vulnerable individuals via the Edo State Health Insurance Scheme (EDOHIS).
