From the first donation in August 2020 of N10,000, the Kindness Initiative championed by RAVE Et Al has in 24 months, disbursed over N13.5m to defray the medical bills of 200+ beneficiaries across 12 states in Nigeria. The Kindness Initiative has also sponsored the annual healthcare insurance premium for 5 vulnerable individuals via the Edo State Health Insurance Scheme (EDOHIS). This couldn’t have happened without the kindness of our donors. I remain eternally grateful to all those who have sacrificially given N1k and multiples in spite of their personal challenges. My prayer is that they reap the full rewards of kindness.
The mission of the Kindness Initiative is to help defray the medical bills of indigent patients in designated hospitals across Nigeria. Our modus operandi is quite simple. We encourage people to donate as frequently as is comfortable for them, N1000 (one thousand Naira) or multiples into the Kindness Initiative fund. Based on the funds available each month, and after carrying out our due diligence, we make payments directly or through our partner NGOs to the relevant hospitals towards the partial or full settlement of the outstanding medical bill issues brought to our attention.
