January 2023 Impact Report - Kindness Initiative

When I saw Nonye’s story about Olajide, a 4-year-old boy at the Cerebral Palsy Centre who needed to do a Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastronomy (PEG) to minimize the risk of him aspirating while being fed, I knew immediately that the Kindness Initiative needed to support. You see, Nonye, the Founder of Cerebral Palsy Centre Nigeria is one of the most selfless people I know, but that’s a story for another day.

We sent an initial donation towards offsetting the medical bill but knowing how costly some of these procedures can be, I asked Nonye if it was okay to do a specific fundraiser for Olajide and she agreed. Within 90 minutes of sharing the case with our network, we had exceeded the goal of N250k. Honestly, the kind heartedness of Nigerians leaves me in awe.

This is just one of the cases the Kindness Initiative supported in January2023. I'm truly grateful to all those who continue to give towards defraying the medical bills of indigent patients in hospitals in Nigeria. May the rewards of kindness be yours in abundance.
